Unfortunately this event is POSTPONED due to the NSW Health restrictions on public events. As the current COVID-19 situation develops we will endeavour to reschedule this event and will be in touch as soon as possible.

Join jazz drummer Chloe Kim as she performs music composed around recordings of her own heartbeat. Chloe was fitted with a pacemaker at a young age and is excited to be able to bring this part of her personal life into her music.

Chloe’s interest in jazz and improvised music has been growing since she came to Australia from Korea in 2012. She developed her strength as a drummer while studying Jazz Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She is now considered a rising stars of the Sydney jazz and improvised music scene.

For his special evening performance Chloe will be joined by a group of colleagues, The Open Heart Ensemble, as they perform a suite of music revolving around her experience of her heart problems.

This event is presented by the UNSW Museum of Human Diseases, and supported by Inspiring Australia as a part of National Science Week 2021. Head here to see full UNSW program.
